Sapphire moves from EDGE AI mini-PCs to a Strix Halo flagship

Sapphire is preparing a high-end mini-PC based on AMD’s Ryzen AI Max+ 395 . The system was shown at Embedded World 2026 as a Strix Halo design focused on local AI workloads. This is not Sapphire’s first mini-PC, but it is a move above the company’s existing mid-range EDGE AI systems.
Sapphire showed two units working together , with one acting as the host and the other extending available compute and memory. According to the demo, the paired setup can handle LLMs in the 235B class with the right software stack.
That makes this design different from standard Strix Halo mini-PCs. On the outside, it looks similar to other compact Ryzen AI Max+ systems with up to 128 GB of LPDDR5X memory. The difference is the planned ability to connect multiple units into a larger local AI platform.

At the show, two systems were linked over USB-C because the chassis does not appear to offer enough suitable ports for broader scaling. Sapphire reportedly wants Ethernet to become the preferred interconnect, but that would require updated hardware, likely including dual LAN.

Sapphire is said to be targeting Computex 2026 for a more complete version of the system. Even so, the design shown at Embedded World looks closer to a working concept than a finished product. If it reaches market, it would become Sapphire’s highest-end mini-PC, sitting above the company’s current Ryzen AI 300-based EDGE AI lineup.
