Tenstorrent TT-QuietBox workstation now runs from 120V outlet

Tenstorrent is a Silicon Valley AI hardware company that develops AI accelerators, RISC-V CPUs, and open-source software for local and data center inference systems. The company is led by CEO Jim Keller, the well-known CPU architect whose past work includes major chip projects at AMD, Apple, and Tesla. RISC-V is a core part of Tenstorrent’s strategy, and the company openly markets both its RISC-V CPU IP and its AI processors as part of the same open, software-driven platform.

Tenstorrent has announced TT-QuietBox 2 , a liquid-cooled desktop AI workstation based on four Blackhole ASICs. The company says the new system can run models up to 120 billion parameters locally, ships with Ubuntu 24.04 and its open-source software stack, and will ship globally in Q2 2026 starting at $9,999.

Compared to the current TT-QuietBox Blackhole sold on Tenstorrent’s site, QuietBox 2 does not change the basic accelerator count on paper. The existing model already uses four Blackhole processors with 480 Tensix cores, 64 big RISC-V cores, 720 MB of SRAM, and 128 GB of GDDR6, while QuietBox 2 is announced with four Blackhole ASICs, 480 Tensix cores, and 128 GB of GDDR6.

Tenstorrent’s current TT-QuietBox Blackhole page lists support for models up to about 80B parameters for a single user and single model, while QuietBox 2 raises that figure to 120B . Tenstorrent also says QuietBox 2 plugs into a standard 120V wall outlet , whereas the current TT-QuietBox Blackhole setup guide calls for a dedicated 20A circuit.

QuietBox 2 is announced with 256 GB of DDR5 system memory, while the current TT-QuietBox Blackhole documentation lists 512 GB of DDR5-4800 ECC RDIMM, an AMD EPYC 8124P CPU, and a 4 TB NVMe SSD. Tenstorrent has not yet published a full QuietBox 2 BOM, so CPU, storage, motherboard, and chassis details are still undisclosed.
