GIGABYTE launches Z890 Plus motherboards with CQDIMM memory support, designed for Intel Core Ultra 200S Plus CPUs

GIGABYTE introduces Z890 AORUS ELITE DUO X and Z890M FORCE DUO X WIFI7

GIGABYTE has introduced its Z890 Plus motherboard series with support for Intel Core Ultra 200S Plus processors . The launch includes two CQDIMM-based models, Z890 AORUS ELITE DUO X and Z890M FORCE DUO X WIFI7, both using a dual-DIMM layout aimed at higher memory speeds and cleaner signal paths.

According to the company, the two new boards support up to 128GB per DIMM with quad-rank memory modules, for a total system capacity of 256GB using just two slots. GIGABYTE says the layout and board design reduce channel loading and improve signal integrity, allowing memory speeds of up to DDR5-10266.

The company is also pairing the hardware changes with its D5 DUO X BIOS tuning stack. GIGABYTE says the firmware handles timing, synchronization, and voltage behavior through an optimized clock driver architecture. The Z890 Plus family also retains D5 Bionic Corsa, along with AORUS AI Snatch software and HyperTune BIOS firmware for one-click DDR5 overclocking.

GIGABYTE is also carrying over its Ultra Turbo Mode feature to the new series. This is a BIOS-level preset that adjusts CPU and DRAM settings with a single click. The company positions it as an easier path to higher performance on the new Intel platform.

Outside the DUO X models, GIGABYTE says the wider Z890 Plus lineup will also include AORUS ELITE, GIGABYTE EAGLE, and FORCE variants . These boards add a reinforced UD base plate, DriverBIOS with a pre-installed Wi-Fi driver for first boot connectivity, and a Rear EZ-Button for system setup and troubleshooting.

The announcement focuses on memory support and board-level tuning, but GIGABYTE has not shared pricing or retail availability yet.
