V-COLOR says it is fine to run with one DDR5 module
V-COLOR is preparing new DDR5 memory kits that pair one real DIMM with one RGB filler module, giving builders the look of a populated system without requiring two active sticks on day one. The company is pitching the idea at AMD Ryzen gaming builds, where users may want to move to DDR5 now and add more memory later.
You get one working DDR5 module and one non-DRAM filler that matches the design and lighting. It does not add any capacity or bandwidth, it just fills the slot and keeps the RGB symmetry intact. For people who care about how the inside of the case looks, this is basically RAM cosplay. For others it’s a way to fake how much memory their system has.

V-COLOR says the first kits will arrive as DDR5-6400 products under its Manta series. The Manta DDR5 XSky will be offered in a 16GB version, while the Manta DDR5 XFinity will come in a 24GB version. Both kits include one DRAM stick and one filler, giving users a 1+1 layout from the start.
The company is also showing more extreme versions of the idea, including setups with one real memory module and three filler sticks. In other words, you can populate all four DIMM slots while only one of them is doing any actual work.
