RAMacolypse pushes ASRock to launch a new Combo motherboard

ASRock has added the H610M COMBO II to its Intel motherboard lineup. The new microATX board supports 12th, 13th and 14th Gen Intel Core processors on socket LGA1700 , and its main feature is a combo memory layout with two DDR5 DIMM slots and one DDR4 DIMM slot. ASRock also says the model may not be sold in every region.
On the DDR5 side, ASRock lists support for up to 5600 MT/s with 14th Gen CPUs, or up to 4800 MT/s with 13th and 12th Gen chips, with up to 96 GB total memory. The DDR4 side is much more limited, with one slot supporting up to DDR4-3200 and up to 32 GB. ASRock only advertises dual-channel support for DDR5 on the spec page (which makes sense given that there is only one DDR4 slot).

The rest of the board is entry-level. H610M COMBO II offers a 6+1+1 power design, one PCIe 5.0 x16 slot for graphics, one PCIe 3.0 x1 slot, one PCIe Gen3 x4 M.2 socket, four SATA ports, Realtek Gigabit LAN and Realtek ALC897 audio. Rear I/O includes HDMI, DisplayPort, D-Sub, two USB 3.2 Gen1 ports and four USB 2.0 ports.
Not the first such motherboard
This is ASRock’s second LGA1700 combo-memory board. The earlier H610M COMBO used a larger 24.4 x 24.4 cm microATX PCB and a roomier layout with four DDR5 slots and two DDR4 slots. H610M COMBO II is smaller at 22 x 20.3 cm and cuts that back to two DDR5 slots and one DDR4 slot, so ASRock has reduced both board size and expansion compared to the first model.
