Newegg honors $87 combo ‘deal’

A Reddit user says Newegg shipped a full AM5 starter bundle for just $86.98 after a combo configurator error applied nearly $800 in savings to one Corsair DDR5 memory kit. According to the post, the order included an AMD Ryzen 5 7600X, a B850M motherboard, 32GB of Corsair DDR5-6000 memory, and a free Cooler Master 240L liquid cooler.
The buyer, posting as KTsoFresh on r/pcmasterrace, said the issue appeared when a Corsair DDR5 kit listed at $557 showed roughly $791 in combo savings when paired with the CPU and motherboard. The Reddit said the discount carried over to the cart and checkout page, dropping the full order to $87 before tax and shipping adjustments. Reportedly, the pricing error was fixed shortly after the order went through.

According to the post, the buyer expected Newegg to cancel the order and kept refreshing the status page after checkout. Instead, the order reportedly moved from accepted to pending to packaging, and the parts were later delivered. The user said Newegg “honored the sale” even though the retailer could have canceled the order.
The story may not have been limited to one order. In the same thread, another commenter said they thought they were the only one, then added that they had also waited for delivery before posting. That same commenter later said they saw multiple RAM kits showing discounts of $800 or more in Newegg’s combo tool around noon CST last Friday.

Interestingly, Newegg also appeared in the comments and replied with a smiley. At that point, the order had already been delivered, so the company does not appear to have taken any action to reverse it, despite the apparent pricing error. Such mistakes are rare. I have only come across a similar case once at another store. But don’t tell anyone!
