Xbox to expand Gaming Copilot from PC and mobile to consoles this year

Microsoft says Gaming Copilot will expand to current-generation consoles later this year. The timing was shared during a GDC 2026 panel by Sonali Yadav, Xbox’s gaming AI partner group product manager. Microsoft did not name the consoles directly, but the wording points to Xbox Series X and Series S.
The company has not published a dedicated Xbox Wire post for the console rollout yet. That means there is still no exact launch date, no supported market list, and no breakdown of how the console version will differ from the current beta. For now, the announcement only confirms that Gaming Copilot is moving beyond PC, mobile, and handheld use.
“I’m excited to announce that later this year, we will bring Gaming Copilot to the current-generation consoles, and we will continue to bring it to more services that players are playing,”
— Sonali Yadav, Xbox’s gaming AI partner group product manager
Gaming Copilot is already available in beta on the Xbox mobile app, on Game Bar for Windows 11, and on ROG Xbox Ally handhelds. Xbox’s official Gaming Copilot page says the assistant can answer questions about the game you are playing, suggest what to play next, and pull account-related details such as achievements, play history, or Game Pass renewal information. Xbox also uses examples such as asking for Minecraft crafting materials or tips for a boss fight.

Microsoft first introduced Copilot for Gaming in March 2025 as an Xbox sidekick focused on recommendations, coaching, and account-aware help. Early testing on mobile started in May 2025, and the Game Bar rollout for Windows PC followed in August. Xbox has also said feedback from these beta phases is being used to shape the feature as it expands to more devices.
