Dog vs. CPU
Redditor Acceptable_Stress295, whose username was clearly put to the test, says his dog chewed on an AMD Ryzen CPU. According to the post, it was a Ryzen 7 7700X , and the dog did not stop at the packaging. It also chewed on the processor itself, leaving visible damage on the chip and the box.
The CPU appears to be physically damaged, with clear scratches and bite marks on the surface. At that point, trying to install it would be hard to recommend. A damaged CPU can create contact issues, socket damage, or other unpredictable problems, so this is not the kind of part anyone should just “test and see.”
That also means this is almost certainly outside normal warranty coverage. Physical damage like this is not the kind of failure a standard CPU warranty is meant to handle. If a processor has been chewed, crushed, or otherwise mangled outside normal use, that is usually the end of the road for any claim, no matter how good the story is.

Unless AMD decides to make an exception for one of the strangest Ryzen casualties in recent memory, there is probably not much the owner can do with this CPU now. Broken PC parts show up online all the time, but this is not the usual bent-pin or shipping-damage post.
A dog-chewed Ryzen 7 7700X is a new one, and it is also a good reminder that unopened hardware boxes are apparently not safe if your household includes a curious pet with strong teeth. I’m curious why the dog chewed on the CPU, though. My dog shows zero interest in PCs, but perhaps it was a nod that it is time for an upgrade?
