AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT falls from 130,000 yen peak to 98,000 yen in Japan, RX 9000 prices keep sliding
AMD’s Radeon RX 9000 series is getting cheaper again in Japan, according to a report from GAZLog. The site says the Radeon RX 9070 XT climbed sharply through late January as memory prices rose and GeForce shortages pushed buyers toward alternatives. By March 12, the tracked minimum price had fallen to 98,000 yen, while the average was down to 109,000 yen.
GAZLog says the RX 9070 XT had previously peaked at 130,000 yen at the low end, with an average of 144,000 yen in late January. That puts the card back in the 90,000-yen range, close to where it traded before the spike. The same report says the RX 9070 and RX 9060 XT, including both 16GB and 8GB variants, are also trending down.

GAZLog also argues that Radeon board partners and distributors may be giving up some margin to keep units moving, while GeForce cards continue to hold firmer pricing . NVIDIA’s RTX 5000 series has followed a different path in the same tracking, with high-end cards rising again after stock returned in late January, and lower-tier models staying relatively flat after earlier increases.

NVIDIA is either reluctant to lower prices, or retailers are unwilling to follow broader market trends while keeping higher margins. So far, this does not appear to have caused a major shift in GPU market share, at least not yet. What is clear is that AMD cards now tend to be cheaper than GeForce RTX 50 series models across the board. I am also starting to see more promotions for the RX 9000 series in Europe, while most RTX 50 cards still remain well above MSRP.
