MINIX ER939-AI with Ryzen AI Max+ 395 goes on sale at $4,600.99
Back in October when MINIX announced their new PC, I said , “There’s no price yet, but it’s safe to say it won’t be cheap”. And unfortunately I was right.
MINIX has started selling the ER939-AI, a compact desktop based on AMD’s Ryzen AI Max+ 395 “Strix Halo” APU. We covered this system when MINIX first revealed it in October, before pricing was available. The listing shared here shows the 128GB and 2TB configuration at $4,600.99, while MINIX’s Hong Kong storefront currently lists the same ER939-AI model at $3,810, which suggests a storefront or regional pricing mismatch. I will note, that NotebookCheck says it was priced at $3800 just yesterday, but clearly that’s no longer the case.

The hardware is in line with what MINIX outlined earlier. The company lists a 16-core, 32-thread Ryzen AI Max+ 395 clocked up to 5.1 GHz, Radeon 8060S integrated graphics, 128GB of LPDDR5-8000 memory, and a 2TB PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD. Storage can be expanded through an additional M.2 2242 PCIe 4.0 x4 slot, and MINIX rates the NPU at 50 TOPS, or up to 126 TOPS overall.

MINIX also gives the ER939-AI a fairly dense I/O setup for a 205 × 192 × 70 mm chassis. The system includes two USB-C 4.0 ports, three USB-A 3.2 Gen2 ports, two USB-A 2.0 ports, HDMI 2.1, DisplayPort 1.4, 2.5GbE, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, dual 3.5 mm audio jacks, an SD card slot, and a front fingerprint reader. The official product page also mentions a twin-turbo cooling design with triple fans.

A similar GMKtec Evo-X2 could be found for under $3,000, making even the lower $3,810/4600 MINIX listing look expensive.
