Later today, Jensen Huang will take the stage and present NVIDIA’s plans for AI, autonomous vehicles, robotics, and possibly graphics too, which is where the company started. GeForce social accounts are usually quiet during GTC, because this event rarely focuses on new consumer products. These days, GTC is mostly about data center hardware, with little attention given to anything more affordable.

That is why it was interesting to see the GeForce account post about GTC. According to the post, Jensen will present the “future of real-time rendering. ” Looking back at some of Huang’s earlier comments, he has said the goal is to render one frame in 100, and that AI could eventually be used to generate textures and objects in games . More recently, NVIDIA also said it is targeting a 1 million times improvement in path tracing compared to Pascal, which of course had no hardware ray tracing support.

That could mean almost anything in that area. NVIDIA may show what its new data center GPUs can do with real-time rendering, or perhaps tie the message to GeForce NOW, since the service already relies on server-side rendering and streaming. That is only one possibility.

More likely, though, we will hear about frame generation going beyond 5x extra frames, a technology NVIDIA is expected to launch by the end of this month . Now, if Jensen reveals the rumored RTX 5090 Ti, I will be genuinely surprised; even NVIDIA employees that we spoke with are clueless about what he’s preparing.
