AMD Zen6 “Medusa Point” 10-core CPU leak confirms 32MB L3 Cache

One of the first Zen6 CPUs finally spotted on Geekbench

Over at Geekbench, you may stumble upon a mysterious processor without a marketing name attached. What we do know is that it has an unusual configuration of 10 cores and 20 threads, and carries the OPN code 100-000001713-31 . This identifier is not used by any existing AMD processor.

However, this leak also leaves us some clues, such as the platform being listed as Plum-MDS1 , which basically confirms this is the Medusa Point platform, AMD’s next-generation Ryzen CPU based on the Zen 6 architecture.

According to the Geekbench data, this is a 2.4 GHz base clock CPU, but the detailed test data shows it running closer to 1.3 GHz during the benchmark. For that reason, the performance is clearly not final and rather shows that this was a very early sample under testing.

What we also see is 32 MB of L3 cache. For comparison, Strix Point carries 24 MB, while Hawk Point has 16 MB of L3 cache.

The OPN code is important because it allows us to trace the CPU back to the actual codename “Medusa” in NBD shipping manifests. That data shows a 4C+4D configuration, classic and dense, which does not match the 10-core configuration shown by Geekbench. Perhaps there are 2 Low-Power cores in the IO die still. Regardless of the CPU config, it should be a 28W TDP SKU, which confirms this is a mobile part for the FP10 socket.

Given AMD’s typical launch schedules, the Medusa Point CPU series should arrive around CES 2027, so we are unlikely to hear much about these CPUs for quite some time. However, this is proof that AMD is already testing such processors, or that one of its early partners has already started evaluating them.
