Frore unveils LiquidJet Nexus cooling stack for thin 1/2U AI servers

LiquidJet Nexus will allow hyperscalers to put even more systems into server racks

Frore Systems has announced LiquidJet Nexus, a new integrated liquid cooling system aimed at 1/2U AI compute trays such as NVIDIA Kyber. In its press release, the company says the design combines multiple LiquidJet coldplates into a single system that directly cools GPUs, CPUs, DPUs, NICs, DC-DC power converters, and voltage regulators.

According to Frore, LiquidJet Nexus delivers 75% higher heat transfer efficiency and keeps components 8°C cooler (the press release does not mention compared to what). The company also says the system removes tray-level hoses, connectors, and manifolds, which cuts thermal stack weight by 65% and simplifies assembly. It looks a lot cleaner, but I can’t imagine taking this block off the everything at once:

Frore says the higher heat transfer efficiency allows 53°C inlet temperatures, which would remove the need for mechanical chillers and reduce data center power use by 10%. The company also claims support for 1/2U compute trays can enable up to 2x higher compute density per rack. These are vendor claims from the launch announcement, and no third-party validation was included with the release.

This is not Frore’s first shipping product. The company already supplies AirJet cooling for consumer hardware, including ZOTAC’s ZBOX pico PI430AJ with AirJet (pictured above). Frore announced that system in 2023, and ZOTAC’s product page says the mini PC uses two AirJet Mini modules for solid-state active cooling.
