MSI set to launch its flagship overclocking board soon
MSI’s MEG X870E UNIFY-X MAX has surfaced with a full specification sheet, giving a closer look at the company’s next high-end AM5 overclocking board. MSI first unveiled the model at CES 2026 , and the appearance of full specs now suggests the retail launch is getting close.
The company never introduced a regular MEG X870E UNIFY-X. Instead, MSI has referred to this board as MEG X870E UNIFY-X MAX from the start, which makes it look like the series went straight to a MAX-branded refresh rather than launching a non-MAX X870E UNIFY-X first.

The leaked spec sheet lists compatibility with Ryzen 9000, 8000, and 7000 desktop processors. MSI also claims DDR5-10600+ memory overclocking on this 2-DIMM design . That kind of speed will likely be most realistic with monolithic Ryzen 8000G-class APUs rather than standard chiplet Ryzen desktop CPUs, which usually do not scale as far on memory frequency.
The rest of the board follows the usual formula for a memory-focused flagship. The sheet lists two PCIe 5.0 expansion slots, five M.2 slots in total with two Gen5 and three Gen4 connections, dual USB4 40Gbps ports, 5GbE LAN, Wi-Fi 7, and Bluetooth 5.4. MSI’s CES description also confirmed the 2-DIMM layout, OC Engine, and an 18+2+1 power stage design aimed at extreme overclocking.

That makes the MEG X870E UNIFY-X MAX one of MSI’s most specialized AM5 boards so far. Unlike broader halo products such as MEG X870E GODLIKE or ACE MAX, this one appears to be built around memory tuning first, and the late arrival suggests MSI is positioning it as a fresh addition to the X870E stack rather than part of the original launch wave. MSI has not shared pricing or a release date yet.
