DDR5 memory now cheaper in Germany, but it is far from the last year’s price
DDR5 retail prices in Germany finally moved lower in March, according to new tracking from 3DCenter. The site known for meticulous data analysis says average DDR5 pricing was 7.2% lower than in February , marking the first clear monthly decline after the earlier surge stopped in February.
The data is based on 20 DDR5 product categories tracked through Geizhals, using the cheapest available retail listing in mid-March. Most of those products posted lower prices month over month, and several dropped by close to 10%. A few models still moved up slightly, but those were in the minority.

This does not mean DDR5 pricing is back to normal. 3DCenter’s index still places German DDR5 prices 308% above the July 2025 baseline . In other words, the market moved from about 4.4x normal pricing to about 4.1x, which is an improvement, but still far above pre-crisis levels.
The broader picture also remains mixed. 3DCenter found that German graphics card prices fell by 3.4% on average in the same period, while internal SSD prices still rose by 3.4%. For now, the March DDR5 drop looks like the first real sign of retail relief in Germany, but it is still too early to call it a lasting trend.
