AMD Medusa Point leak shows 10-core Zen 6 APU beating Ryzen AI 9 365 in Geekbench multi-core

AMD Medusa Point Zen 6 APU appears again with higher Geekbench score

AMD’s Medusa Point APU has appeared in Geekbench again, this time with a much higher score than the earlier entry. The new result lists a 10-core, 20-thread Ryzen 9 chip on the Plum-MDS1 platform, which is believed to be an evaluation board for next-generation mobile SoCs in the 28W to 45W range.

The listing shows a 4+6 core layout, which points to a mix of standard and efficiency-focused Zen 6 cores. The chip is reported with a 2.40 GHz base clock , although the benchmark data suggests it was operating closer to 2.0 to 2.1 GHz during the run. Geekbench also reports 32MB of L3 cache and 10MB of L2 cache.

In this run, the APU scored 2,300 points in single-core and 13,002 points in multi-core. Based on the comparison shared with the leak, the Ryzen AI 9 365 averages around 2,480 points in single-core and 12,445 points in multi-core in the same benchmark. That would put Medusa Point slightly behind in single-threaded performance, but ahead by about 4.4% in multi-threaded results despite running at much lower clock speeds.

Another detail from the new entry is FP16 support , which Geekbench reports as AVX-VNNI FP16 capability. If true, this would indicate broader low-precision compute support on Zen 6 mobile parts, which could help in AI and other accelerated workloads. That feature was not visible in the earlier Medusa Point sighting.

Remember, clock speeds, firmware, memory configuration, and power limits can all change before launch. Even so, this leak suggests AMD’s Zen 6 mobile architecture may deliver better performance per clock than Strix Point, while Medusa Point is still believed to be targeting a 2027 launch window.
