Intel with new Raptor Lake

On paper, the Core i7-13645HX is a Raptor Lake HX part with 14 cores and 20 threads, split into 6 Performance cores and 8 Efficient cores. Intel lists boost clocks up to 4.9 GHz, 24MB of Intel Smart Cache, 55W processor base power, 157W maximum turbo power, and support for up to DDR5-5600 or DDR4-3200 memory.
The closest match is the Core i7-13650HX. Both parts carry the same 6P+8E layout, 20 threads, 24MB cache, 4.9 GHz maximum turbo, and the same 55W base power with 157W turbo power. The differences are unusual, because Intel gives the i7-13645HX DDR5-5600 support instead of DDR5-4800, 89.6 GB/s memory bandwidth instead of 76.8 GB/s, and a 32EU integrated GPU instead of 16EU. The older i7-13650HX does keep a slightly higher E-core turbo at 3.6 GHz versus 3.5 GHz.

Against the Core i7-13700HX, the i7-13645HX lands one tier lower in CPU resources. The i7-13700HX moves to 8 Performance cores and 8 Efficient cores, 24 threads, 30MB cache, and a 5.0 GHz boost clock, while keeping the same 55W base power, 157W maximum turbo power, and 32EU integrated graphics. That makes the i7-13645HX look closer to a cut-down i7-13700HX than a direct replacement for the i7-13650HX.
This new SKU is interesting because Intel already rebranded Raptor Lake as Core 200 in late 2024. That series was based on the H variants, to be exact. The fact that Intel is still releasing new Raptor Lake laptop SKUs under a different name in 2026 makes the situation quite confusing. But has mobile SKU naming ever been clear?
