Core Ultra 200HX Plus gaming laptops arrive first on Lenovo Legion and Razer Blade systems

Intel’s new Core Ultra 200HX Plus laptop processors are not arriving across gaming brands at the same time. According to PCWorld, systems based on the new mobile chips are being supplied in waves, which means some models are already available while others will not ship until late Q2 or even Q3.
Intel quietly introduced the Core Ultra 9 290HX Plus and Core Ultra 7 270HX Plus on March 17. These chips are the mobile counterpart to the desktop Core Ultra 200S Plus series that launched last week. Intel says the update brings a 900 MHz increase between the CPU and memory controller, which should improve bandwidth, and also adds the Intel Binary Optimization Tool for supported games.
Intel is supplying its Core Ultra 200HX processors to manufacturers in waves, according to laptop makers. That means that some gaming laptops will be available almost immediately, while others won’t be available until the end of the second quarter.

Intel’s launch message suggested broad availability starting March 17, but current listings show a narrower first wave. Lenovo and Razer appear to be the first brands shipping systems right away. Lenovo has multiple Legion models on sale, while Razer’s Blade 18 is already listed with shipping dates between March 20 and March 23.
Other vendors are following later. Dell’s Alienware 18 Area-51 is expected to ship on March 31. MSI reportedly plans Q2 availability for the Raider 16 Max HX. Acer said pricing for its Predator Helios Neo 16S AI, 16 AI, and 18 AI will be announced closer to a July launch. Asus also appears to be behind the first group, with U.S. availability not expected until at least late May.

PCWorld notes that some buyers were told they were part of specific availability waves. Intel did not comment on that detail. It is also not clear whether the staggered rollout is tied to Intel’s previously discussed chip supply priorities, or to broader shortages affecting memory and storage.
