Vertical display on Mini-PC
Honestly, it is hard to see the point of such a small display on a mini PC. The system does not appear to have its own dashboard, companion app, or any dedicated software that would make proper use of that screen. It simply works as another Windows display. That may be useful for debugging, or for quickly attaching a keyboard to a home server and checking what is going on, but beyond that it seems too small to be practical.
The new ViewDock G2 has a vertical screen design and wireless charging idea. It uses AMD Ryzen hardware, upgradeable memory, and internal storage. The system also includes a 4.5-inch hinged display and a 15W Qi charging pad on top.
The hardware itself is closer to a standard compact desktop than a simple dock. ViewDock says the G2 has two SO-DIMM slots with support for up to 64GB DDR5 memory, dual M.2 2280 SSD slots, USB4, HDMI 2.1, DisplayPort 1.4, dual 2.5GbE, Wi-Fi 6, and Bluetooth 5.2. The chassis measures 175 × 138 × 51 mm, while the small top display has a 480 × 854 resolution.
The campaign and third-party coverage mention several Ryzen options, including Ryzen 9 6900HX, Ryzen 7 7735H, Ryzen 5 7640H, Ryzen 7 7840H or 7840HS, Ryzen 9 7940H, and Ryzen 7 8845H . These chips do not all use the same CPU architecture or integrated graphics.
Pricing starts at $639 for the first 200 early units, while configured models are listed at $889 for 16GB and 512GB, $999 for 16GB and 1TB, and $1,299 for 32GB and 1TB. ViewDock currently targets August 2026 for shipping. Reports also note that the base model is a barebones configuration, Windows is listed as a trial install, and Linux support is mentioned on the campaign page.
