Amazon rejected claim after ‘RTX’ detergent delivery

Another high-value GPU delivery dispute has surfaced in India, this time involving a GIGABYTE GeForce RTX 5090 WINDFORCE OC 32G bought through Amazon. Reddit user void_SW said the card was ordered on March 10 for ₹299,990, then delivered on March 14 through a listing marked “Fulfilled by Amazon.” According to the post, the retail box contained a 1 kg pack of Ghadi detergent instead of the graphics card.
The buyer says the outer Amazon shipping bag arrived sealed, but the GPU box inside showed visible damage, cut factory seals covered with clear tape, and an aftermarket barcode sticker. He also says Amazon received raw unboxing footage, photos, and invoice details as part of the claim.

The buyer said Amazon denied the refund after an eight-day review and told him the correct product had been shipped. His main argument is the parcel weight shown on the shipping label, 1.56 kg. That figure is well below public packaged or shipping weight data for the same RTX 5090 model, which appears at around 2.8 kg to 3.0 kg in retailer listings.

According to the Redditor, the same seller page had reviews already claiming the same scam involving washing powder being delivered instead of a GPU.
While we always tell you to record opening expensive packages near the camera, some cases can still lead to denied claims, like in this example. The Redditor has not presented any such evidence, though. The least you can do when ordering expensive GPUs, just use credit/debit cards and issue a chargeback with your bank after showing them evidence.
