Ryzen 7 9800X3D hits $419

CPU pricing has been relatively stable over the past few weeks, with few changes across AMD and Intel desktop parts. That is starting to shift again as more discounts appear ahead of Intel’s Arrow Lake Refresh rollout this week.
Amazon is now listing AMD’s Ryzen 7 9800X3D at $419.95 , marking the lowest price seen so far for this processor. The chip launched at $479, so the current deal cuts roughly $59 off AMD’s original price for the 8-core Zen 5 gaming SKU.
The new price also puts the Ryzen 7 9800X3D well below the Ryzen 7 9850X3D, which is currently listed at $499. That leaves an $80 gap between the two models. For buyers focused on gaming, that difference is hard to ignore, since the performance spread between these chips is small in most gaming workloads.

At just under $420, the Ryzen 7 9800X3D now stands out as the more appealing option in AMD’s 8-core X3D stack. The newer Ryzen 7 9850X3D has also moved below its launch price, but the reduction is minor by comparison and does little to close the gap.
