Apple has yet to publish release notes for today’s firmware, but most AirPods firmware releases simply focus on “bug fixes and other improvements.” When the release notes are available, .
Unlike most Apple devices, new AirPods firmware can’t be manually installed by users. Instead, Apple says it will install in the background when a variety of conditions are met. Those conditions include being in range of your iPhone, keeping AirPods in their charging case, and more.
