War Thunder adds DLSS 4.5 option in new update

War Thunder has updated its DLSS implementation with the release of update 2.55.0.35, adding support for DLSS 4.5 models and changing the default model behavior on GeForce RTX GPUs.
According to Gaijin’s changelog published on March 26, DLSS 4.5 is now the default model for Performance and Ultra Performance modes on GeForce RTX 40 and RTX 50 series graphics cards. In other DLSS modes on those GPUs, and across all modes on RTX 20 and RTX 30 series cards, DLSS 4 remains the default.
We're released an update activating DLSS 4.5 in the game:
– DLSS 4.5 models are now default on RTX 40 and 50 series GPUs in Performance and Ultra Performance modes.
– For other modes on these GPUs and all modes on RTX 20 and 30 series GPUs, DLSS 4 is still the default model.

The update also adds a manual selector for DLSS models in Performance and Ultra Performance modes. That means users on all GeForce RTX GPUs, including RTX 20, 30, 40, and 50 series, can now switch between DLSS 4 and DLSS 4.5 in those two presets.
Gaijin did not share performance numbers or image quality comparisons for the new model in the patch notes. The wording suggests this is a model-level update rather than a broader graphics feature rollout, with DLSS 4.5 limited to specific presets by default on newer RTX hardware.
This change arrived as part of a smaller War Thunder patch that also includes audio, naval, and customization fixes. As usual, Gaijin says the patch notes only list key changes and may not include every improvement made in the update.
