Khadas Mind modular Panther Lake Mini-PC will soon cost over $2000

Khadas PC is simply too expensive

Khadas says its current Mind Pro pre-order pricing ends on March 27. Starting March 28, the Core Ultra X7 358H model with 64 GB memory will move from $1,999 to $2,299, although the current discount still brings it down to $1,799. The company says higher memory costs are behind the increase.

That means buyers ordering before March 28 can still save $500 versus the new post-launch price. The current configuration includes an Intel Core Ultra X7 358H, 64 GB LPDDR5X-8533 memory, and a 2 TB PCIe 4.0 SSD, with shipping expected in mid-April.

New pricing (effective March 28)

The Mind Pro (Core Ultra X7, 64GB) will increase from $1999 to $2299, effective March 28, when the pre-order period ends.

For the Core Ultra X9 (96GB) and Core Ultra X7 (32GB) configurations, their launch has been delayed due to rising memory costs. Costs have risen disproportionately for the 96GB 9600 MT/s module used in the Mind Pro (Core Ultra X9, 96 GB) compared to other configurations. Rather than passing this on to our customers, we’ve chosen to hold off on release until pricing returns to a more reasonable level

Khadas also confirmed delays for the other two Mind Pro variants. The Core Ultra X9 388H model with 96 GB memory and the Core Ultra X7 358H version with 32 GB memory are both delayed due to CPU and memory supply constraints.

The Mind Pro is a premium modular mini PC with a 0.43-liter chassis, dual Thunderbolt 4, HDMI 2.1 FRL, two USB-A 3.2 Gen 2 ports, and the proprietary Mind Link connector with PCIe 5.0 x4 bandwidth. Khadas also promotes optional expansion modules such as Mind Dock, Mind Graphics 2, and Mind xPlay.

Khadas was already selling the Mind platform at a premium. Its modular design depends on proprietary accessories, so there are no lower-cost alternatives within the same ecosystem. With this latest increase, the system is moving closer to boutique pricing. Khadas did not communicate the price change directly with us, despite previously sending many updates about the product. Nothing to be proud of, I guess.
