Arc Pro B70 tested in three games, performance just as expected

Intel has just announced its long-awaited Big Battlemage GPU lineup as the Arc Pro B70 and B65 series. So far, nothing indicates that Intel plans to launch the long-rumored Arc B770 gaming card. At least for now, Big Battlemage is a workstation story.

One of the first Arc Pro B70 reviews came from Level1Techs, which appears to have received four cards for AI testing. That review strategy will likely raise some questions, but the more interesting part is that gaming tests were published right away. That is important because Arc Pro B-series cards use the same software stack as Intel’s gaming GPUs, so they can run standard consumer Arc drivers. Users can also install the updated Arc Pro workstation driver, which now includes support for BMG-G31-based cards.

In gaming, the Arc Pro B70 was around 45% faster than the Arc Pro B60 on average in the first set of tests we have seen. Across six benchmark results from Level1Techs, the B70 delivered a 45.0% higher average frame rate and a 45.8% uplift in 1% lows. The gap was visible in all three games tested, including Monster Hunter Wilds, Shadow of the Tomb Raider, and Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty, at both 1080p and 1440p.

On paper, the Arc Pro B70 has 4096 shading units, which is 60% more than the B60’s 2560. That hardware gap helps explain the gaming lead, but there is still more headroom in the platform. Intel’s reference B70 design appears to be limited to 230W, even though Intel says board power can scale up to 290W. Some partner cards already go beyond that, with Sparkle listing a 330W version , so performance may end up higher on custom models with more aggressive power limits.
