GMKtec Panther Lake mini PC $2399 MSRP is higher than its Strix Halo Ryzen AI Max system

GMKtech’s Mini-PC with Intel’s latest CPU costs as much as a gaming PC

GMKtec has now put its EVO-T2S mini PC on sale in China, while the global launch is set for tomorrow. The system is built around Intel’s Panther Lake platform, with the currently shipping model using the Core Ultra X7 358H. GMKtec also says an X9 388H version is planned later.

In China, the EVO-T2S is listed at 14,999 RMB, roughly $2,170 , while the first 100 units were sold at 9,999 yuan, or around $1,447, and are already gone. For the global launch, the 64GB and 1TB model has been reported at $1,899 . GMKtec’s own social promo also lists a $2,399 MSRP for that configuration, but we all know these launch discounts are nothing but marketing.

That leaves the Panther Lake system uncomfortably close to GMKtec’s Ryzen AI Max+ 395 -based EVO-X2, which starts at $1,999.99, only $100 more. This also brings us to discussions comparing both platforms, where many assumed it’s an entirely different kind of platform and they shouldn’t be compared. Well, at least now we know they target similar prices. The official MSRP is actually $400 higher than Halo’s, quite ridiculous if you ask me.

GMKtec lists onboard LPDDR5X-8533 memory, dual M.2 slots with PCIe 5.0 and PCIe 4.0 support, up to 16TB of total storage, OCuLink for eGPU expansion, dual USB4, HDMI 2.0, DP 1.4, Wi-Fi 7, and 10GbE networking. The company is also advertising Intel Arc B390 integrated graphics with 12 Xe3 GPU cores and a 3DMark Time Spy score above 6300 in its materials.
