AUO claims to have developed world’s first 24-inch Full HD panel with 800 Hz refresh rate

AUO announces 24-inch FHD 800Hz gaming monitor

AUO has announced a new 24-inch Full HD 800Hz gaming monitor ahead of Touch Taiwan 2026, where it will also show a dual-mode 32-inch 4K 360Hz display and a 27-inch 5K 180Hz panel. The company describes the 24-inch model as the world’s first in that exact size and resolution category.

AUO is not first to announce an 800Hz gaming panel overall. In 2025, HKC announced what it called the world’s first 24.5-inch FHD 800Hz monitor, with a native 800Hz refresh rate and Mini LED backlight. The company also announced a 27-inch monitor which had dual Hz mode, including 800 Hz.

AUO has developed the world’s first (*) 24-inch FHD 800Hz ultra-high-refresh-rate gaming monitor , as well as dual-mode switchable 32-inch 4K 360Hz and 27-inch 5K 180Hz high-resolution displays to meet the demands for high-speed frame updates and low-latency interaction. AUO has also introduced the world’s first (*) LTPS 16-inch QHD 1Hz power-saving laptop panel and a 16-inch FHD iTP TDDI power-efficient touch panel. Featuring ECO+ LTPS technologies, these panels effectively reduce power consumption during extended operation while delivering stable, long-lasting performance. The QHD 1Hz panel also supports up to 165Hz, balancing power efficiency with smooth gaming experiences.

*Based on market data as of March 30, 2026 (UTC+08:00), the date of this release.

There are also faster 27-inch-class options on paper already. HKC’s ANTGAMER ANT275PQ MAX was announced for CES 2026 with a dual-mode setup that reaches up to 1080Hz , while running at 540Hz at 1440p. That panel sits in a different category because the top refresh mode depends on lower-resolution operation, but it still means AUO is not setting a new overall refresh-rate record.

So unless AUO did not mean 24.5-inch panel, but true 24-inch then they are indeed first. This esports monitor at 800Hz will pushes the segment further than current 24.1-inch products such as ASUS’s ROG Strix XG248QSG , which offers a 610Hz overclocked refresh rate on a 24.1-inch FHD Super TN panel.
