First pre-built PC with AMD flagship dual 3D V-Cache CPU

So it was true after all. Dell has now officially announced a new desktop powered by AMD’s Ryzen 9 9950X3D2. This 16-core Zen 5 processor features dual 3D V-Cache and a combined 208 MB of cache. AMD announced the chip last week and confirmed that retail availability begins in April. Dell also confirms that the first desktops featuring this processor will be available on April 22.
In Dell’s US store, custom configuration starts at $3,649.99. The company currently lists several prebuilt options, including a Ryzen 7 9700X with GeForce RTX 5070, 32GB of RAM, and 1TB SSD for $3,649.99 , and a Ryzen 7 9850X3D with GeForce RTX 5080, 32GB RAM, and 2TB SSD for $3,749.99. I can already tell you that you should find similarly spec’d systems starting from $3200.
When it comes to 16-core CPUs, Dell offers two Ryzen 9 9950X3D models with GeForce RTX 5090. Pricing starts at $5,299.99 f or a configuration with 32GB RAM and 2TB SSD, while the most expensive listed option costs $6,299.99 with 64GB RAM and 4TB SSD. I’m quite sure the 9950X3D2, which has no official MSRP, will likely stretch that pricing even higher.
The new @AMDRyzen 9 9950X3D2 processor is landing in Area‑51 desktops on April 22. Built to power whatever you do next. 🦾

One more thing, Dell lied to us
In early January, Dell contacted us to say reports claiming Area-51 will feature 9950X3D2 are inaccurate and that this system would not be confirmed with that chip. We relied on information provided by Dell, but it has since become clear that those claims were incorrect. Dell’s representative did not respond when we asked why we had been given inaccurate information.
Incorrect statement from Dell
“The Alienware Area-51 Desktop will be configured with AMD’s Ryzen 7 9850X3D which we announced at CES. It will not be configured with the rumored 9950X3D2 chip.”

We apologize for sharing that information, and we will treat future statements from Dell with extra caution.
