Alleged configurations for Nova Lake-HX revealed

Jaykihn has shared new details on Intel’s next-generation Nova Lake series, this time focusing on high-end laptop chips expected to succeed the recently updated Arrow Lake Refresh HX lineup. The parts will reportedly belong to the Core 400HX series , assuming Intel keeps Core 300 branding for Panther Lake. Based on current timing, these processors are unlikely to arrive before early next year.
The new leak suggests Nova Lake-HX will not mirror the desktop configuration. As previously reported, Nova Lake-S for desktops is rumored to scale up to 52 cores, combining 16 P-cores and 32 E-cores. The mobile variant is said to be more conservative, topping out at 8 P-cores and 16 E-cores.
The same chip is also rumored to include 4 low-power E-cores, which would bring the total CPU core count to 28. That is still a large configuration for Intel’s flagship laptop silicon, even if it falls well below the desktop version.

Jaykihn also claims Intel is preparing two smaller silicon variants with 4 P-cores, 8 E-cores, and 4 low-power E-cores. Those parts would total 16 cores. No clock speeds or full GPU details were shared, although earlier rumors pointed to graphics based on a mix of Xe3 and Xe3P architectures. The NVL-HX family would top out at 2 GPU cores.
Intel has only just refreshed its high-end laptop stack with the Core Ultra 9 290HX and 270HX Plus series, so Nova Lake-HX is not expected anytime soon. CES 2027 looks like the earliest likely launch window, in line with Intel’s usual update cycle for flagship mobile platforms.
