LG details 39GX950B 4th Gen Tandem OLED monitor specs: world’s first 5K AI upscaling without GPU

LG 39GX950B official pages confirm 1500R curve and 5K2K OLED panel

LG has now published official product pages for the UltraGear 39GX950B, giving us a closer look at the company’s new 39-inch gaming OLED ahead of launch. The monitor first appeared at CES 2026, and LG’s Canada listing now confirms the core specifications, while LG Japan says reservations in that market are scheduled to open on April 9 . Neither page lists pricing yet.

The 39GX950B uses a 38.86-inch 21:9 OLED panel with a 5120 x 2160 resolution , 1500R curvature, and 143 PPI. LG markets it as the first 39-inch 5K2K OLED gaming monitor, and the official listing also confirms a 4th Gen Tandem OLED panel, 335 cd/m² typical SDR brightness, 10-bit color, and 99.5% DCI-P3 gamut coverage. The surface treatment is anti-glare with low reflection.

For gaming, the monitor supports up to 165Hz at its native 5K2K resolution, alongside a Dual Mode that switches to 330Hz at WFHD. LG also lists a 0.03 ms GtG response time, VESA DisplayHDR True Black 500 certification, FreeSync Premium Pro, G-SYNC Compatible support, and VRR.

Connectivity includes one DisplayPort 2.1 (full bandwidth), two HDMI 2.1 ports, and one USB Type-C port with data, display output, and up to 90W power delivery. LG also confirms two USB 3.2 Gen 2 downstream ports, a 4-pole headphone jack, PiP and 2PBP support, plus a stand with tilt, height, and swivel adjustment. Hardware calibration is listed as supported, and the monitor includes 7W stereo speakers.

AI-first monitor

LG is also promoting a set of AI features built into the display itself. The company says its internal processor handles 5K2K AI Upscaling without requiring extra GPU power, while AI Sound separates voices, effects, and background audio for a virtual 7.1.2-channel effect through the 7W x2 speakers or headphones. There is also AI Scene Optimization , which detects the content type and adjusts settings like color temperature, sharpness, and color enhancement automatically.
