ASUS registers ROG CROSSHAIR X870E EDITION 20 and ROG CROSSHAIR 2006, hinting at ROG 20th anniversary board

ASUS EEC filing lists ROG CROSSHAIR 2006 and X870E EDITION 20

ASUS has filed a new EEC entry that lists two unusual motherboard names, ROG CROSSHAIR X870E EDITION 20 and ROG CROSSHAIR 2006. The same filing also includes a wider batch of upcoming ASUS boards across ROG, TUF Gaming, PRIME, and industrial lines.

As we know, ASUS ROG brand was established in 2006, and ASUS itself marks the original ROG Crosshair as the first product in the brand’s history. ASUS is already running its 20th anniversary branding on official ROG pages, and they even had a special event at CES 2026 . By the way, one of the products that was released for this anniversary was the new ROG MATRIX card .

At this stage, the filing does not confirm specifications, board layout, or launch timing. Still, ROG CROSSHAIR X870E EDITION 20 looks like a possible anniversary version of ASUS’s high-end AM5 platform, while ROG CROSSHAIR 2006 could be a separate commemorative model – I’m thinking it could look really weird like the first-gen ROG systems just for fun.

ASUS already has several flagship X870E boards on the market, including the ROG Crosshair X870E Hero, Dark Hero, and Extreme. Needless to say, the lineup is quite large already, so if these are coming, I’m guessing we are looking at a limited edition series.
