ISLAMABAD -- Pakistan this week drastically hiked gasoline and diesel prices to the highest levels in any major Asian economy due to the energy market turmoil triggered by the Iran war, even as Islamabad plays a leading role in efforts to mediate an end to the conflict and continues to receive two daily oil shipments through the Strait of Hormuz.
