Intel confirms Core Ultra 7 251HX after first gaming laptop listings

Intel has now confirmed the Core Ultra 7 251HX, the Arrow Lake-HX mobile processor that first appeared in Lenovo Legion 5i 2026 and MSI Raider 16 HX listings . What originally looked like an unannounced SKU in early gaming laptop pages is now a public Intel product with a full specifications page.
According to Intel, the Core Ultra 7 251HX is an 18-core chip with 6 performance cores and 12 Efficient-cores. It carries 30MB of Intel Smart Cache, boosts up to 5.1 GHz, and has a 55W processor base power with 160W maximum turbo power. Intel also lists 3 Xe-cores at up to 1.8 GHz for the integrated graphics, support for up to DDR5-6400 memory.

That places the 251HX between existing HX parts rather than alongside Intel’s newer Plus refresh models. The Core Ultra 7 255HX and 265HX remain 20-core 8P+12E parts with 30MB cache and higher turbo clocks of 5.2 GHz and 5.3 GHz, while the Core Ultra 5 245HX sits lower with 14 cores in a 6P+8E layout and 24MB cache. In other words, the 251HX looks like a lower-bin Arrow Lake-HX option that fills the gap between Core Ultra 5 and the existing Core Ultra 7 HX chips.
Lenovo’s Legion 5i 2026 page showed the processor paired with GeForce RTX 5070 graphics, a 15.3-inch 2560 x 1600 OLED panel at 165 Hz, 32GB of memory, and 1TB of storage. Problem: Well, this laptop is/was listed at $4000.
