Claimed render gives first look at possible OnePlus gaming handheld
© OnePlus/Digital Chat Station A new set of leaks suggests OnePlus could be preparing an Android gaming handheld. The story started in late March, when Digital Chat Station claimed a smartphone brand was working on an Android handheld built around FPS-style gaming.
Today we have the first render of the device. The handheld would feature a thicker body with integrated side grips and shoulder buttons, which points to a dedicated handheld form factor rather than a phone with accessories attached. The handheld was previously described as an 8-inch device with flagship MediaTek Dimensity processor.

Earlier reports said the device may move away from the standard joystick-heavy design used by most handhelds and instead focus on touchscreen input for FPS games. The leak mentions better multi-finger responsiveness, lower touch latency, and support for high refresh rate gameplay in titles such as Delta Force and PUBG Mobile.
This rumor also comes at a time when OnePlus has been facing separate reports about its wider business operations. In late March, reports claimed the company could scale back or shut down parts of its business in some global markets, although OnePlus publicly denied shutdown claims in India and said local operations would continue as normal. Hopefully we will see this handheld on the market, but who really knows?
