TAIPEI -- Taiwan's top opposition figure Cheng Li-wun met with Chinese President Xi Jinping in Beijing on Friday, an encounter closely watched back in Taipei as well as in Japan and the U.S. ahead of President Donald Trump's expected visit to China.
