OCCT overhauls memory test with modular blocks and preset imports

OCCT has announced v17 open beta with a full redesign of its Memory test. The new version replaces the older fixed approach with a modular system that lets users build their own memory stress routines. OCCT says the beta launches with 16 distinct blocks, including a legacy test for users who want the older behavior.
According to OCCT, those 16 blocks are split into five categories: non-idempotent, idempotent, check, all-in-one, and utility. The company says this lets users decide how data is written, moved, looped, and checked during a test run. One detail worth noting is that error detection now depends on including a check block, unless users choose an all-in-one preset that already includes it.

OCCT says the new system was inspired by TestMem5 and MemTest86 , but rebuilt internally rather than reused. The beta also adds support for custom presets, saved test profiles, and external test imports, including TM5 configurations. OCCT says users can share presets with others, and the beta already includes a community-made preset from a Discord user.
The company is also shipping ready-made presets for users who do not want to build tests from scratch. That keeps the new Memory test usable for quick validation, while still opening more control for memory tuning and overclocking work. OCCT says features may still change before final release, and more community presets could be added later.
Version 17 is currently available under open beta, however access is limited to supporters.
