According to reports, the attackers did not directly compromise Snowflake systems. Access was reportedly obtained through Anodot, a cloud monitoring and analytics service used by Rockstar. A recent security issue affecting Anodot may have exposed access credentials or integrations used with Snowflake.
“We can confirm that a limited amount of non-material company information was accessed in connection with a third-party data breach. This incident has no impact on our organization or our players.”

ShinyHunters has not disclosed what data it obtained. Reports suggest the breach may involve corporate information such as internal documents, contracts, or marketing materials. There is no indication that passwords or player-related data were accessed. Perhaps what was accessed is a new marketing and trailer data, which was rumored to be released soon-ish.
This follows a 2022 incident involving Rockstar Games, where early Grand Theft Auto VI development footage leaked online after unauthorized access to internal systems. The company has not commented on whether the two incidents are related.
