Hands-on with Belkin’s newest 25W compact MagSafe docks for iPhone and Android users

Belkin has just released two excellent new – providing 25W MagSafe charging in an ultra-compact design. Normally, these products are centered around the Apple ecosystem, but actually embraces modularity and gives Android users an option to bring their own watch charger. Both are very slim, and work excellently no matter which ecosystem you’re in.

With the , Belkin embraces Android devices, including silicone inserts that let you use other watch chargers with the product. On top of , it supports , and . It is a bring your own cable setup, and it does require a cable that ends in USB-C – but this is incredibly clutch, especially as tons of Android makers add support for Qi2.

As for the fit and finish, I’d say the is pretty up to par. It’s a nice hard plastic for most of the enclosure, with silicone on the base and on the point where you attach your phone. When you flip up the top, you reveal a second Qi charger for charging your AirPods or other wirelessly charging earbuds. It also comes with a 45W brick and 5ft USB-C cable in the packaging.

My biggest caveat would be that there’s no active cooling. This could result in your phone getting a little warm, especially if you’re not using an with its excellent thermals. Nonetheless, Belkin promises a 0-50% charge in just 35 minutes.

At just $65, the is priced pretty competitively compared to other Qi2.2 or 25W MagSafe 3-in-1 offerings on the market, though you do have to bring your own watch charger. It’s available in two colors: and . You can .

Unlike the previous charger, the does come with an integrated puck – which also means it isn’t as Android friendly. Nonetheless, if you want the most compact 2-in-1 charger for travel – this is the option for you.

The charge puck folds up from the inside and can sit at three different angles – including completely flat. This is nice if you want more of a side by side setup. It’s also great for StandBy with its low height.

The shares similar build quality to the previous charger, which is to say it is sturdy. Only build complaint of mine would be the fact that folding up the watch charger can be a little stiff, and it might be hard to do with one hand if you don’t have longer fingernails.

Similar to the previous charger, it also includes a tiny 45W charge brick and a cable in the box – but this cable is braided.

If you want the slimmest you can throw in your bag for travel (perhaps in lieu of MagSafe Duo), this new is an excellent option. Belkin promises 0 to 50% charges in just 29 minutes, so it’ll be rather speedy. It’s available in two colors: and , coming in at $85 and $99 respectively – there’s a right now.
