Snapdragon X PCs add 25 NetEase titles
© Qualcomm (translated) It looks like we did not hear much official about gaming when Snapdragon X2 Elite systems launched or when reviews went live. Honestly, I still do not see a major shift in Qualcomm’s overall gaming focus, but the company is at least claiming that software support has grown a lot compared to the early Snapdragon X1 launch period. Even so, review coverage so far suggests performance is still not where many expected it to be.
Perhaps the new collaboration announced by Qualcomm China will help change that. Qualcomm China and NetEase Games have announced a deeper ecosystem partnership for Windows PCs powered by Snapdragon X series chips. According to the announcement, 25 NetEase titles have already been adapted for the platform, including Naraka: Bladepoint, Marvel Rivals, FragPunk, Once Human, Sky: Children of the Light, and Where Winds Meet.
The companies also confirmed work on NetEase’s MuMu emulator. Qualcomm China says MuMu has now been deeply optimized for Snapdragon X series hardware, including support for Snapdragon X2 Elite platforms. The announcement adds that the emulator supports more than 2.2 million mobile games and Android applications, which gives Snapdragon PCs another software option beyond native Windows titles and x86 translation.
© Qualcomm China Qualcomm China also says there are now 150 Windows PC designs based on Snapdragon X series platforms that are either already on the market or in production. The company lists Acer, ASUS, Dell, HP, Honor, Lenovo, Microsoft, and Samsung among partners with Snapdragon X systems.
Qualcomm clearly needs to up its game (literally) on this, because its new X1 and X2 systems are not marketed for gaming anywhere. The infrequent release of Adreno drivers does not help either. Still feels kind of weird to add posts to Snapdragon and Game categories when writing such articles.
