TCL CSOT plans 4x dual-mode monitor panel with up to 640Hz

TCL CSOT is reportedly preparing a new dual-mode esports monitor panel with a 4x refresh-rate switch . The claim points to a 160Hz high-resolution mode and a 640Hz low-resolution mode, with a launch window around Q3 2026.
This would go beyond the more common dual-mode approach where refresh rate typically doubles after switching to a lower resolution. A 160Hz to 640Hz jump would put TCL CSOT in the small group of panel makers pushing 3x and 4x dual-mode designs instead of the usual 2x setups.
The rumor also fits TCL’s recent monitor roadmap. Earlier this year, TCL showed the 32X3A, a 31.5-inch 4K OLED model with 240Hz and a dual-mode 1080p 480Hz option. It also listed the 27C3A Pro with a 4K 165Hz panel and a 1080p 320Hz mode.

TCL has also already shown that it is working on much higher refresh rates. The 27-inch 27P2A Ultra was presented with a native 2560 x 1440 resolution at 550Hz, plus a dual-mode path to 1040Hz at a lower resolution . That does not confirm this new 160Hz and 640Hz panel, but it shows TCL is already building products around aggressive refresh-rate scaling.
For now, panel size, native resolution, panel type, and commercial branding are still unclear.
