System integrator recalls 18,230 PSUs over missing warning label

Manik and Apex ATX power supplies recalled over missing shock hazard warning, users can fix it by applying the sticker themselves

Apex Gaming PCs has issued a recall for Manik and Apex-branded ATX power supplies sold in the US, according to a notice published by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission on April 16. The recall covers about 17,730 units in the US, plus another 500 sold in Canada.

Recalled because they are missing labels

The recalled units lack a permanent on-product warning label about electrical shock and electrocution hazards if the PSU is opened or disassembled. The CPSC says consumers should stop using the affected power supplies immediately and contact Apex Gaming PCs for a remedy. Apex’s own recall page also says the problem is the missing warning label, not a hardware defect.

The power supply units are not being recalled due to a performance defect. The recall addresses the absence of a permanent on-product warning label identifying potential electrical shock and electrocution hazards if the unit is opened or disassembled.

The recall applies to 450W, 750W, 1000W, and 1200W ATX power supplies sold under the Apex or Manik branding. The units were sold in black or white, both as standalone PSUs and inside prebuilt gaming PCs. They were sold online through ApexGamingPCs.com from December 2021 through February 2026 for between $70 and $150.

Fix is a free sticker

Apex is offering a free repair in the form of a mailed permanent UL-recognized adhesive warning label that users apply to the PSU exterior. Customers who do not want to apply the label themselves can request a free replacement unit instead. Apex also says customers who complete the recall process will receive a one-year warranty extension, although that is separate from the recall remedy itself.

This is one costly mistake by whoever has shipped the PSUs without the warning label. The PSUs affected by this recall are cheap enough to just replace them with labeled versions, but not expensive enough to hire one person to visit all users to apply the sticker. Well, at least the PSUs do not hve to be removed to apply the sticker, but I find it hard to believe anyone will care, especially when they offer a huge black sticker over a white PSU.
