ASUS confirms which ROG PSUs will ship with ROG Equalizer, price increase also confirmed

ASUS confirms Q2 2026 rollout for ROG Equalizer on selected ROG PSUs, existing and future ROG PSU users will have to pay more

ASUS has updated its support documentation to confirm exactly which power supplies will ship with the new ROG Equalizer 12V-2×6 cable. We covered the initial launch on April 9, when ASUS said the cable would be bundled with 2026 ROG Thor III and ROG Strix Platinum units and offered separately to existing PSU owners at a discount.

The newly published FAQ lists nine affected PSU models. These include the ROG Thor series, plus the Hatsune Miku and White editions of the 1200W model, plus ROG Strix variants. ASUS also lists both black and white ROG Equalizer cables as separate products.

The PSUs listed by ASUS are:

    • ROG Thor 1000W Platinum III
    • ROG Thor 1200W Platinum III
    • ROG THOR 1200W Platinum III Hatsune Miku Edition
    • ROG THOR 1200W Platinum III White Edition
    • ROG Thor 1600W Titanium III
    • ROG-STRIX-850P-GAMING
    • ROG-STRIX-1000P-GAMING
    • ROG-STRIX-1000P-GAMING-WHITE
    • ROG-STRIX-1200P-GAMING

According to ASUS, the updated bundles will start appearing in Q2 2026. The company says accessory contents may vary by production batch, but retail packaging will indicate whether the cable is included. That likely means buyers may see mixed inventory during the transition.

Cable is not free, even with bundled power supplies

ASUS also confirms that pricing will change for units released after Q2 2026 because of the added cable. In other words, power supplies will be more expensive. Existing stock will keep its original price and contents. For current owners who want the cable, ASUS says it will offer a preferential purchase program rather than including it as a standard replacement.

Regarding pricing, versions released after Q2 2026 will have their retail prices adjusted accordingly due to the inclusion of the ROG Equalizer cables. In contrast, the versions currently available for purchase are offered based on the specifications and pricing at the time of their release, ensuring alignment between product contents and pricing.

The ROG Equalizer was introduced as ASUS’ answer to 12V-2×6 connector heating concerns. And ASUS wasn’t the only company that chose this path, MSI, Gigabyte and ASRock have already shown their variants too .

ASUS also contacted us to clarify that users whose power supplies do not include the ROG Equalizer cable will need to buy it separately. The wording on the support page was unclear, but ASUS confirmed that existing owners will not receive the cable for free. That means current users will have to pay for the add-on, while new buyers will also face higher PSU pricing once the updated bundles arrive. It is not a great way to present what was initially described as a safety-focused accessory.
