Chuwi updates AuBox X mini PC with Intel Core Ultra 7 256V

Hopefully this Mini-PC ships with the correct CPU

Chuwi has introduced a new AuBox X configuration based on Intel’s Core Ultra 7 256V, expanding the mini PC beyond the earlier Core Ultra 5 226V version already listed in the company’s store. The refreshed model keeps the same 0.67-liter chassis and moves up to Intel Arc 140V graphics, with 16GB of on-package LPDDR5X-8533 memory and up to 1TB of storage.

The new Lunar Lake configuration uses an 8-core, 8-thread processor with boost clocks up to 4.8 GHz, 12MB cache, and up to 37W TDP. Chuwi also lists up to 47 TOPS from the NPU and up to 115 TOPS across CPU, GPU, and NPU, which places the system in the Copilot+ PC class.

Port selection is fairly standard for this size class, but there are a few useful extras. Chuwi says the AuBox X includes USB4 with eGPU support, five USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports, 2.5GbE, two HDMI 2.1 outputs, DisplayPort 1.4, a separate USB-C port with 100W PD support, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.4, and a 3.5 mm audio jack. The system also supports up to three displays, and storage expansion is handled by two M.2 slots, one of them with PCIe 5.0 SSD support.

Pricing is a bit unclear depending on which listing is used. Chuwi’s US store currently shows the Core Ultra 7 256V model at $829.

Chuwi’s CPU switch controversy

Last month, AMD publicly distanced itself from Chuwi’s Ryzen labeling issue. This issue did not only affect laptops but also at least one mini PC line from Chuwi. I think it wouldn’t hurt to verify with every possible tool if the new PC ships with the correct CPU at this point.
