Xbox cuts Game Pass Ultimate price to $22.99, future Call of Duty games lose day-one access

Xbox Game Pass Ultimate officially cheaper, CoD games won’t be added at launch

It is unusual to see a subscription service get cheaper instead of more expensive, but that is exactly what Microsoft announced today. Xbox has cut the price of Game Pass Ultimate from $29.99 to $22.99 per month , while PC Game Pass now drops from $16.49 to $13.99. The change takes effect immediately, although Microsoft says pricing can still vary by region.

The lower pricing comes with an important tradeoff. Starting this year , future Call of Duty games will no longer launch into Game Pass Ultimate or PC Game Pass on day one. Microsoft says those titles will instead be added during the following holiday season, roughly a year later, while current Call of Duty games already in the catalog will remain available.

Call of Duty games will not join Game Pass at launch

Microsoft says the move is a response to player feedback, and it keeps the rest of the Game Pass structure in place. Ultimate still includes hundreds of games across console and PC, online multiplayer, in-game benefits, and other day-one releases. The broader Game Pass lineup also remains split across Essential, Premium, Ultimate, and PC tiers, with Premium positioned as the plan where new Xbox-published games arrive within 12 months rather than on launch day.
