Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced official details confirm July 9 launch, 4K60 targets on RTX 4090

Ubisoft has officially revealed Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced, a full remake of the 2013 game , launching on July 9 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC through Ubisoft Store, Steam, and Epic Games Store. Ubisoft says the remake was rebuilt on the latest version of its Anvil engine and will also be available on Steam Deck and cloud platforms including GeForce NOW.

Ubisoft says Black Flag Resynced adds ray-traced global illumination and reflections , rebuilt assets designed for micropolygon and physically based rendering pipelines, fully modernized water rendering, and dynamic weather powered by the Anvil Atmos system. Console versions will offer a 60 FPS mode, while the PS5 release also includes 30 FPS Fidelity and 40 FPS Balanced modes, with RTGI enabled across all graphics modes.

Gameplay updates

Resynced adds new officers for the Jackdaw with their own abilities, reworked island encounters, extra missions and scenes with Matt Ryan and the original cast, more ship customization, ship pets, ten new shanties, and a reworked Kenway’s Fleet system that is now available from the Captain’s Cabin.

Gameplay changes are broader than the trailer first suggested. Ubisoft lists new parry mechanics, new takedowns, quick-fire rope dart and pistol moves, and a new Demolitionist enemy type. Stealth now includes Observe mode, crouch-anywhere, dive-anywhere, and light-based visibility, while parkour gets manual jump, side ejects, back ejects, and faster move chaining. Naval combat is also being updated with new secondary weapons, including shrapnel barrels and 8-pounders, plus revised enemy ship loadouts.

    • Manual jump
    • Side ejects
    • Height-gaining back ejects
    • Quicker interrupts between parkour moves
  • Dynamic weather and objects
    • With Anvil’s Atmos system, the weather of the Caribbean becomes a character in its own right and brings the seas to life.
    • Destructible objects react to weather and combat: signs that move and shift with the wind, ships’ sails billow and blow, coconuts roll across the ground in a storm, and objects break when enemies are thrown against them.
    • Reworked water physics really brings home the feeling of sailing the Caribbean.

Official PC specs

On PC, Ubisoft says the game supports upscaling and frame generation, and also includes software ray tracing for systems without hardware RT support. Minimum requirements for 1080p at 30 FPS call for a Core i7-8700K or Ryzen 5 3600, GTX 1660, Radeon RX 5500 XT, or Arc A580, 16GB of RAM, and a 65GB SSD. Ubisoft’s 1080p60 recommendation moves to RTX 3060, RX 6600 XT, or Arc B580, while the 4K60 Ultra target calls for an RTX 4090 or Radeon RX 7900 XTX paired with a Core i7-12700K or Ryzen 7 5700X3D. Windows 11 is listed across all tiers.
