AMD EXPO 1.2 Support Lands On ASUS’s X870 Motherboards – CUDIMM & Low-Latency DDR5 Memory Ready

ASUS has become the first motherboard maker to enable AMD's next-gen EXPO 1.2 technology support on its X870 motherboards, bringing faster DDR5 memory standards to Ryzen platforms.

ASUS has released its , which includes one big feature that will be coming to current and upcoming AM5 motherboards: support for AMD EXPO 1.2. This technology will play an important role when coupled with the next-gen Ryzen "Zen 6" CPU family .

Currently, the EXPO 1.2 support is in its initial stages, but ASUS has rolled out BIOS support for the tech across several X870 series motherboards, which are listed below:

The AMD EXPO technology was designed to replace the older AMP (AMD Memory Profile) technology and XMP, which were often associated with Intel platforms. While AM5 supports both EXPO and XMP profiles, the EXPO technology offers a refined set of one-click OC profiles that are tuned for AM5 platforms.

AMD's board partners have already tuned AM5 motherboards with the latest AGESA firmware, enabling support for faster DDR5 DIMMs, exceeding 8000 MT/s in certain cases . Even 10,000 MT/s speeds are supported on certain OC-specific motherboards when paired with Ryzen 8000G APUs , thanks to their solid IMC (Integrated Memory Controller).

With EXPO 1.2, AMD is expected to bring CUDIMM DDR5 memory support on AM5 platforms, along with ultra-low latency DDR5 memory compatibility. We will see these kits announced at Computex 2026, so stay tuned for more information.
