Colorful launches MoDT desktop motherboard equipped with 24-Core i9-13900HX Raptor Lake CPU

Colorful launches BATTLE-AX HM770M-K WIFI D5 V20, an M-ATX MoDT board with Core i9-13900HX

Colorful has listed its first MoDT motherboard, the BATTLE-AX HM770M-K WIFI D5 V20 . The board uses Intel’s HM770 chipset and comes with an onboard Core i9-13900HX processor. The MoDT stands for “Mobile on Desktop” and this is basically a desktop motherboard with a mobile CPU preinstalled. Since this is a HX-variant, it means that one is essentially given a non-upgradable platform but supporting desktop coolers. The mobile SKU is obviously power-limited compared to desktop LGA variants.

This is a mobile-on-desktop platform, so the CPU is preinstalled rather than socketed. The Core i9-13900HX is a Raptor Lake HX chip with 24 cores, 32 threads , 36MB of L3 cache, a 5.4 GHz maximum turbo clock and a 55W TDP.

The board uses an M-ATX layout measuring 237 × 184 mm. It has two DDR5 memory slots with support for up to 96GB capacity. Colorful lists DDR5-6400 OC support, with lower speeds down to DDR5-4800 also supported. XMP and dual-channel memory are listed as supported features.

Storage support includes two M.2 slots and two SATA 6Gbps ports. The primary M.2 slot is wired to the CPU with PCIe 4.0 x4 support, while the second M.2 slot is routed through the chipset and also supports PCIe 4.0 x4 SSDs. Expansion includes one PCIe 4.0 x16 slot and one PCIe 3.0 x1 slot. Rear I/O includes two USB 2.0 ports, four USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports, HDMI 2.0, DisplayPort 1.2, Gigabit Ethernet, Wi-Fi 6 antenna connectors and three audio jacks. Networking is handled by Realtek RTL8111H Gigabit Ethernet and Intel AX101 Wi-Fi 6 with Bluetooth 5.2.

Colorful has not listed pricing or availability in the provided product page text. MoDT boards with Intel HX processors are not new as a category, with Minisforum and Erying previously offering similar Core i9-13900HX and Core i9-13980HX platforms. This appears to be Colorful’s first entry into that segment.
