But why?

Just get an MMO mouse, speaking from experience, if you want extra productivity buttons. I have always liked larger mice with many buttons because I use my PC in different ways. Selecting text, moving data, media controls and app shortcuts can all be assigned to a regular MMO mouse, with buttons left for other actions.
What I cannot imagine is looking at the mouse during use to check whether I am pressing the right icon on a screen. Turtle Beach has now put a touchscreen on a mouse, and what makes it stranger is that this is also a wireless model. The Command Series MC7 is a wireless gaming mouse with a 2.25-inch touchscreen on the left side. The display can be used to adjust DPI, switch profiles, trigger macros, launch apps and control OBS.

Wireless mouse with screen
The MC7 uses Turtle Beach’s Owl-Eye 30K optical sensor with a 50 to 30,000 DPI range, 750 IPS tracking speed and 70g acceleration. The mouse supports 8,000 Hz polling over 2.4 GHz wireless or USB, while Bluetooth is also available. Turtle Beach also lists Titan Optical Switches rated for 150 million clicks.
The built-in screen is paired with 33 programmable functions, five onboard profiles and Swarm II software support. Turtle Beach says the mouse can also show system information and provide streaming controls, including OBS scene switching and mic muting. The mouse has an adaptive 4D scroll wheel, which can switch between stepped scrolling and free spin.
What about battery life
Battery life depends on how the screen and lighting are used. Turtle Beach says each 1000 mAh battery lasts up to 10 hours at full power, or up to 15 hours at 8K polling with LED and LCD lighting disabled. The MC7 ships with two hot-swappable batteries and a charging dock. Literally, this reminds me of my 2000’s era A4 Tech mouse that had giant batteries, can’t imagine we are back to battery swapping.
