Steam Controller early review leak claims $99 launch price

Steam Controller launch signs grow as early review video leaks

Valve’s new Steam Controller appears to have leaked again, this time through what looks like an early review video. Since the review was taken down, we are looking at a Streamable mirror. The reviewer claims the controller will launch at a $99 price. The video is not an official Valve upload, and the price has not been confirmed by Valve. The clip came from YouTuber Techy Talk, who published a review early before it was taken down.

The leaked review also lists several controller features. These include dual trackpads, magnetic TMR or Hall effect thumbsticks, HD rumble and four back buttons. The controller is also said to use a wireless dongle that doubles as a magnetic charging puck.

The leaked price would put the new Steam Controller above standard console gamepads but below premium models such as the DualSense Edge or Xbox Elite Series 2.

This is not the first sign that Valve is preparing the controller for release. We previously reported that SteamDB listed a hidden unboxing video. It is clear that the launch is imminent at this point.
