Despite mixed reviews, AMD’s most expensive AM5 desktop CPU briefly appeared among Amazon’s top 10 best-selling CPUs

AMD’s Ryzen 9 9950X3D2 has entered Amazon US’ top 10 CPU best-seller list, despite a review response that focused mostly on price and limited gains over cheaper X3D models. Reviews did not question the technical design, but most did question the value.
The processor can improve some workstation, compile, simulation and memory-sensitive workloads, but gaming gains are small compared with cheaper Ryzen X3D parts. Our review roundup also shows the same core argument from several outlets: the chip is fast, but its price makes it a narrow-use product.

Intel is still absent from top 10 lists, even the 270K+
The processor in 10th place on Amazon’s best-selling CPU chart at $899. That ranking placed it ahead of any Intel desktop CPUs at the time of capture, while AMD’s Ryzen X3D lineup continued to occupy most of the top positions.
Amazon’s best-seller chart changes often and reflects recent activity inside one category. It is still useful as a short-term demand signal, but to understand what it actually means, we should focus on the longer term best selling lists. Here AMD Ryzen CPUs are undisputed winners and have been for a long time now.
Even the just-released Intel’s Core Ultra 7 270K Plus is absent from this list. Based on my quick check, neither of the Arrow Lake Refresh SKUs appeared in the top10 list yet. Intel’s new chip is priced much lower and has received better value-focused reviews, but it still does not appear to be challenging AMD’s X3D CPUs on Amazon’s chart. Intel may have very solid plans for the future, but everyone knows at this point that the LGA-1851 socket is effectively dead after this generation.
